Tho I didn't specifically create this for the challenge, I did create it the day before, i think Lisa was channelling me;))!! I was inpired by a pin and the mojo was flowing and this came together incredibly quickly. The felt flower technique takes cardstock and runs it multiple times through a corrugator (or you can go over it with an embossing stylus, but that is best with smaller flowers) the paper will break down and you can actually take an edge and peel it in two. The underside looks like felt and 1 flower becomes two thinner softer ones. I sponged the edges with pale plum ink, crumpled and held all the pieces together with a bit of glue and a green apple glimmer brad and just stamped flourishes dtp. The local newspaper highlights past events and 41 yrs ago my husband's great uncle Sid produced 120 gallons of maple syrup augmented by two late runs making this a nostalgic card. The bush is still in operation.

Wow I need to try the flower technique you used on this one. Love the flourish on the newspaper and your great story too. Thank you for making a card for my challenge.

Hi Michelle. Of course Lisa was channeling you! I love what you've done with the 'old files' newsprint. So very cool to be able to take a family story reprint and bring it new life through a card. That flower is loads of work, but the end result is that it's the perfect embellishment for this newsprint. Wonderful my friend. Simply wonderful. Hugs
