This is the card I made for the MMTPT 354 challenge "It Don't Mean a Thing If it Ain't Got that Swing!" Our cards are going to Alice Barker, a former jazz swing dancer who only recently at the ripe young age of 102) got to see film taken of her performances. I fell in love with this sweet lady after seeing the video of her performance, and her reaction. You can see the video here: http://www.people.com/article/102-ye...nce-first-time
I didn't have any fitting stamps, so Photoshop to the rescue!I decided I would make a sort of "Coming Attractions" poster for the card front. My dancer, with music score and trombone player in the background, was printed three times. I fussy cut two copies of her to layer onto the image attached to the card front, created the banner and added gold stars. The image is adhered to a matching craft foam layer for dimension.
This was so much fun to make. I hope it pleases sweet Alice!
As always, thanks for looking!

I saw this woman on the news! How incredible and what a perfect card for her! Oh my gosh you fussy cut that lady twice? I bow to you, Jo! That is not my forte and I avoid it like the plague! Love the vintage feel to this! What great images and love that you use photoshop when you don't have the stamps!

How creative and fun, Jody! Your thought to make a poster was just brilliant and executed beautifully. Bless your tired fingers for all of the fussy cutting...the effect is fabulous. Alice will just love this! Thank you so much for coming to her Teaparty. I hope you got some of the movie cookies - you surely earned them!!
Big hugs from NJ.

How you do what you do with photoshop just totally blows me away! To put this sassy lady popped up on such a fabulous BG of the music she remembers and the trombone player was sheer genius! You have my utmost admiration for the way your mind works and the creative processes you use! Wow!

Oh wow! This is a great card. I went to the link. How precious!!!! I am kind of choked up at her response, "made her want to do it all over again". Phew, life goes by so fast, doesn't it! How awesome that you found sheet music to the song she remembered! Sweet!
