Wonderful challenge! I think the texture in this w/c paper and appearance of texture in the barn will qualify for the MIX.
Since this scene pretty detailed, I pulled out my long neglected water color pencils. They are a good way to add color just where you want it. In conjunction with a few water brushes, coloring a scene like this is fairly quick & painless. And if you get a bit too much color in places, just wet it and dab with a paper towel. Instantly lighter (did this on the trees and roof)! After I was finished I did go back & add just a touch more color here & there with my Tombow markers (water based).
It’s a big scene and I didn’t feel it needed any embellishment, so I used another piece of water color paper to die cut a frame. The bottom is a little wider to accommodate the greeting. I added a die cut C and T to add over the coordinating areas of the greeting. The greeting is pretty easy to read in person, but if you’re having trouble here, it says “One day in the country is worth a month in town”.
I also included the w/c inside (see next upload) because I liked the way it turned out. Thanks so much for looking! Closeups are on my blog: The Write Stuff
