WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time and Jody has given us a brilliant story about Miz Sadie Dalwhimple and the Ding Dong Spring Fling.
Bad weather in Ding Dong, Texas means that this annual outdoors event has to be moved indoors. Thankfully the community centre has been set up to host indoor activities like Scrabble and Dominoes.
Here we have Pippi Longstocking, named after her great-aunt who lives in Sweden. Pippi is ecstatic that the event has been moved indoors as she is currently banned from the community sports oval.
Regrettably Pippi is rather challenged when it comes to sporting events. Last week whilst throwing a javelin, the spear went backward instead of forward. Mr. Walker the gymnasium teacher only suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. After the javelin incident you can understand Pippi's reluctance at throwing the shot put, more importantly it should have served as a warning to anyone standing near by.
Long story short, according to the school newsletter, Mrs. Pomelroy will not be returning until next term. The details of Mrs.Pomelroys broken toes (only 3), were the talk of the town. When Pippi was asked to comment, she expressed relief that 7 other toes were not injured.
Pippi was coloured with Copics and Distress Inks then fussy cut. This is a stairstep fold, it is hard to see in the photo, but there are two little kids behind the window playing a game. Thanks to my MISTI, I stamped the image about 5 times to get a really black finish. I masked over the little vase of flowers that is on this stamp.
Acetate was added to the windows, lace for the curtains, picket fence and a hand made sign completed this card.
I had heaps of fun making this. I probably should confess that Pippi's story is in fact my story, Mrs. Pomelroys real name was Miss Pomroy and I can't remember Mr. WalkerÂ’s real name, but I do remember that he wasn't badly wounded, but two kids did faint at the sight of all the blood.
Have a terrific week everyone.

You sure Pippi isn't also related to you! Her misadventures sound almost like what might happen to you - except that you usually seem to be your own victim!! Oh....I've just read on to the very end of your write-up. So I was right!! I love all the details - the awning, the open windows - and the little bunny in Pippi's pocket, as well as how beautifully she is dressed. And yep, I can see the players inside.
Makes me think of one of my recent visits to my aunt; her back was quite sore at the time, so when I arrived she was very glamorously dressed up ready for Bridge that night, so save her having to change. But she says one has to dress very strategically, because depending on where you sit, and what position you are playing, you might be in a draught or next to a radiator, so you have to be able to thermostatically adjust yourself . And of course in Bridge, unless you're one position (North? I can't remember, though she did give us a lesson once), you keep moving so you might be in a draught and then beside a radiator ten minutes later.

Oh, Susie, I needed the belly laugh I got from reading your story! It was almost as entertaining as this unbelievably awesome card! The folks in Ding Dong (which really is a town, by the way) would be ever so proud to see the beautiful sign adorning the community center, and Pippi would certainly drum up some excitement. Or is it trepidation? Thanks so much, my friend, for playing along!
