Janette's sketch this week reminds me of the basic shape I use every time I doodle or sketch a flower....the oval. I started by cutting out the oval, and with a pencil drew another oval in the center. Then you keep going around making ovals to make the petals. You can make them wide or narrow at the tip for different looks. Then I take a black fine tip pen and go over the pencil marks and erase them, adding lines like doodling. Once you get the basic shape you can add double petals. To color the flower I used reinkers and a brush. It's very relaxing...TFL

Such bright, happy colors - they remind me of the kitchen in a house I used to live in. Your flower is so sweet, and your explanation sounds so simple. My execution is another story, LOL! Love the card!

AWESOME!!!!!!! It sounds so easy, but I doubt it would turn out so beautiful if I tried it myself! Your card is so amazing....the watercoloring on your hand-drawn flower is fabulous!!

Your hand drawing makes this extra special. The recipient is sure to be appreciative; I sure would be! :-) I really like your background treatment. The trellis effect is wonderful!
