so, it's harder than you would think it is when you make hundreds of cards a year to find one to re-visit... but, I spent a couple of hours poking around in my blog today and thinking about my son. (we text like crazy on weekends) I made this card for him a couple of years ago and he had told me at the time he thought it was the best card I had ever made for him. ( it's still up in his room) so, this version has the flag colored as a spot light in it's scene with the sentiment as a tag. The fiber was removed and the compass brad was switched to a button. the printed papers were switched for a real vintage map. Oh, and as of last week he is now a Lance Corporal for the USMC. Thanks for this challenge Audrie! & tfl.

Congrats, Stacy. You must be one proud mom. It's wonderful to know you've raised a son who decided to show his spirit and patriotism for this country by becoming a proud Marine. I love your card. Is he stationed in Norfolk? I've drive that route more times than I could ever count? Great card!

Beautiful sentiment....would have been perfect for my DH when he was in the navy! He retired after nearly 27 years and many voyages under his belt. My hats off to your son for his service to our great country, Stacy! We were in Va Beach for 23 years! Love your map...so bright and bold~
