What a fun Ways to Use It challenge - to use one or more of the four elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water) on a card. I chose earth and water.
First I sprinkled coated cs with blue and natural bister powders, then spritzed with water. When dry, I stamped the girls and the sentiment with archival ink. I used bleach and a paintbrush to lift most of the bister colour from the girls and then went back in with Distress markers to colour them. I then masked the girls and placed a raindrop stencil over just the blue area, and used translucent embossing paste to create the rain. Bordered it with black cs and popped it up with dimensionals.
It's also for Loll Thompson's Happy Little Stampers stencilling challenge. Which is perfect since the raindrops stencil was made for me by Loll on her Cameo! Here's the link if you want to play along (it runs all month):

The blue and natural bister really give the feeling of earth and sky and those raindrops are fantastic (great stencil.). Susan, I now have to check out Deep Red stamps: that stamp is perfect for working with bister and brusho.

Love the bister background Susan... perfect for the earth and water elements! Awesome technique of using bleach to remove the background colour so your colouring of your images is more true. The raindrops are so awesome ... love them done with the translucent paste! Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers, my friend!! xx

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation of how you made this lovely card. The ladies look splendid strolling through that downpour! The rain made with translucent paste is great! TFS
