For the earth/air/fire/water Ways to Use it challenge. Onions come from the earth....
I'm not sure I had ever heard of Vidalia onions when I moved to Georgia, but in the ensuing years, I have learned they are a very big deal. The 2015 crop goes on sale later this month.
To create the background paper, I stamped the seed packet stamp in a diagonal pattern. I then stamped it in black on white card stock and on a pale orange vellum. At first I was just going to lay the vellum over the while image, then I realized it would be interesting to just cut out the onions, because the vellum is almost the same color as onion skin, and paper piece it.

ONions are fabulous. They add so much taste and flavor to anything. How could we ever cook without them. My friend likes thin slices of videlia on pumpernickle with peanut butter. Sounds atrocious, but delish! Love your oniony card!

I first heard of Vidalia onions from my parents when they wintered in Florida. I can't imagine living without onions (and garlic)! I love your tribute to that amazing vegetable! Great idea using the vellum. I still have an old pad of tracing paper that is titled 'onion skin'. Wonderful card!

It's Vidalia all the way for me, Sandy. I love onions. I have onions on just about everything I eat. AND I love this card. I really really love this card. Your hand stamped bg is fabulous! Oh if only I was creative enough to do that. Your card, your design, even your ink colors are fabulous. You aced this one, girl.
