I loved this sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Fabulous Flamingo set and thought it would be fitting to create a unique flamingo in blue! As a rehabilitation nurse, I have worked with many autistic students in our facility whose goal is to get them equipped with good work habits then trained and eventually placed into a job in their home community. Yes, it can be challenging in the dorm setting when their social skills don't always make it easy for them to mesh well with others. However, their giftedness with art, remembering trivia, creating their own video games and web sites, etc. never ceases to amaze me! We've learned in Student Health to be flexible and work with them on their medication times...knowing they are often resistant to change. Bottom line is that a person on the autism spectrum can be a unique and wonderful personality in a pink flamingo world!
