This week, Sharon challenged us to make a card related to vacation, or travel. I knew immediately what I wanted to do, since she had just shared some pictures of her recent trip to Hawaii!
I used Kraft paper for the card base, stamped my postal stuff up at the top, then after coloring my image with copics, I mounted it on a separate piece of white, and cut the deckled edge with crafting scissors, so it would look like a picture from the 50's or 60's. Added the "Hello from Hawaii" strip which is hand done. Really a fun card to do - if you want to join us, just put TSC0227 in your keywords!

Sue, it looks like you had a vintage postcard and decided to use it on a card! You have those muted tones that an aged postcard would have....beautiful! The edging of it reminds me of how photographs(non-professional) came back from the processor with the white deckled edge(talking 40's-50's here) Love how you mounted it on another postcard looking bg. GREAT card!
Oh,my goodness, did you go to Hawaii, too? LOL. How perfect for my challenge! I want to know the details Sistah! Beautiful scene! Makes me want to go back! Actually already wanted to be back.

I am really loving this tropical beauty. You have colored it wonderfully. I like how you slanted the image and added the post card stamps. You are not alone-I want to be there, too. (with my butt in the hammock)

Look at that coloring! Ms. Sue this is really a great card with your hand made sentiment and gorgeous ocean scene. Ah, don't we all wish we were in HI right about now. Beautiful card.

Your card caught my eye right away. The cut edges to look like an old photo is an awesome dedign idea. The card has such a terrific vintage feel... like you found it in an old steamer trunk. Very Tommy Bahamma. Right into my favs.

Sue, this card is phenomenal and I too, am envious of Sharon's photos! Love that old fashioned deckled edge and your coloring on the water and sand is outstanding! You captured the highlights so beautifully! Love the post card stamps you used too!
