Last week I had a little free time and decided to try one stroke painting again. Years ago I had bought a book and brushes - boy oh boy, was I surprised that those tutotials where ladies wave the magic brushes over a piece of paper and life-like flowers emerge are greatly exagerated. However, I did end up with a few painted flowers that I could keep. This one was perfect for the CAS313 theme of Spring. I just stenciled a purple pattern around my roses and stamped a sentiment. The hardest part about this card is to keep it CAS. I am just dying to add a ribbon and pearls. Luckily it is late and I have things to get done. TFL, Francie

Wow, Francie - those roses are AMAZING. My FIL used to have a rosebush with flowers that colour. The stencilled background is a lovely setting for them.

Hang on a minute...it is hard to type while I am trying to re-align my jaw. Holy moly Francie this is incredible. Throw away those books, keep the brushes and write your own!!! Wow, can you tell how much I love this.

Francie, I was astounded to read you'd painted the roses, they're stunning - and the leaves - so beautifully done, the faint stenciling surrounding is just perfect too!

a truly gorgeous creation and I know so what you mean about being stunned that I did not achieve the same results as Donna Dewberry on my first try! You really nailed it and your tenacity has paid off in spades!

Francie, this is beautiful! Wow! I had a book like that once and painted my daughter's room all in flowers - haven't the slightest memory of how to do it. This is really pretty and really impressive! Love it! Into my faves. Hugz

Oh Wow - this is just so breath takingly beautiful. To think that this was one of your first attempts. Love the colour of the roses and the matching stencilled background. I also had a had time keeping things CAS. he he
I always loved to watch the videos of one stroke painting, but never tried it. Wow, you did an AMAZING job. I'm blown away by the gorgeous flowers. And the stenciling behind the roses looks like a trellis. Stunning card!

Francie, great job with the one stroke painting. Love the color you chose for your roses. Very striking card. Hope to see more of your painting on future cards. Tfs
