This is my card for TLC521 which was to fill the negative space from a die with something positive. Maybe I try to be too, too perfect, but this was a challenge for me.
I made a lot of poinsettia Christmas cards and have started to clean up, but find there are still a lot of poinsettia parts and pieces lying on my counter. Because I rarely used the small flowerette, there were quite a few of them and I had usually cut them off the other pieces when I cut the die, so they were in these "fan shaped" pieces of cardstock. I started with these. I glued them down and stuck a contrasting color of flowerette in the shapes. That was the easy part.
Next I started looking for pieces of poinsettia as I intended to put one on the very bottom. I dug in the trash to no avail and then seemed to remember pitching a whole mittful of different colored and sized flowers. Must have emptied the garbage too. (rare)
So when I found a piece of Christmas music about the correct size I cut a flower out of it and then cut another flower and filled it in. Added music notes and I'm done.
I HAVE used up scraps, but I think I did it the hard way. I am pleased with how it turned out. What do you think?

Creative card with the sunray panels, Carol....and the way you cut out the flower shapes and added the musical notes to carry thru the musical motif in the bg.

The fan shaped pieces reminder me of a quilt design (Dresden plate?)...anyway it looks really cool. I like the added music paper and the musical notes. Carol your designs are always interesting to examine and very creative.
