This is my much loved Bindi-Lou - a Galah. She was found wandering down the main street where I live - obviously been pushed out of the nest - well and truly before she was ready. She was just a little puff of fluff and couldn't even feed herself. She was rescued before a cat or car got her. I adopted her from the friend who found her and had to learn to look after her. I had to crack the sunflower seeds between my teeth so that she could get the idea of what to do with them. She turned out to be a very quick learner and was a beautiful little bird - with great patience with my Cat!!! I had her for 20 years all told which is probably short for a Galah - but she was not a strong bird - and was probably the runt of the litter so to speak and probably had a much longer life that if she had been in the wild. This stamp reminds me so much of her and her beautiful rose pink and grey pyjamas.
I made the gelli plate background using kitchen paper and glad wrap (plastic wrap) from the kitchen.

Wow - a touching story - really. You are very patient and loving. A beautiful bird too! Your coloring is fabulous and brings the birds to life - just like you do in real life. Fab! Hugz

Lovely colours in your background to complement the bird. Thanks for sharing the story of your bird, I enjoyed reading that. When I was growing up, we had a jackdaw (type of crow) who had fallen down the chimney as a fledgeling. He never learnt to fly, but was very happy in his large cage with the cats draped over it!

I loved your story! It is hard to loose a pet and anyone who has not had a bird probably would find it hard to believe what great personalities they have. Your card is beautiful! I love your colouring and that very creative background. Thanks for sharing!
