This is for the WT517 to use stuff from the kitchen, and the MIX106 to use bright colors on a love themed card. When I saw the word "cook" on Sabrina's fun WT517 challenge, I panicked. I have mentioned this favorite quote of mine before - "the only reason I have a kitchen is because it came with the house". My sons and dh were soooo excited when they say me looking around the kitchen... visions of home baked goodies danced in their heads. What a let down when they figured out what I was really doing. I did a little adjustment to the shaving cream bkg technique. Sometimes I have a little mental lapse and actually believe that fat free foods can taste like the real thing. That is why I had a large can of fat free whip cream in the refridgerator. I covered a large piece of aluminum foil with whip cream, dropped food coloring drops onto it, swirled the colors with a fork and smooshed my card stock into it. Let it absorb for a few minutes , then scrape off the whip cream with a butter knife. WHAT A HUGE, FLUFFY MESS!!! You can make a lot of bkgs for your stash and you feel like you are back in kindergarten. Using copics and prisma pencils, I colored the image in similar colors. I like to keep "I love you" cards on hand to leave for my dh if he is stressed or having a bad day, so this was perfect to add the "love" die cut for the MIX106 challenge. Well, I might have to stop at the bakery to get some goodies for my family since they can't eat this card. TFL, Francie

Well, I know how kitchen-averse you are, but you certainly cooked up a gorgeous card, Francie! And the food colouring has given the sort of colours that I dream of, and never achieve with re-inkers. It makes a wonderful abstract background for the stylized dragonfly, and the black layering just makes everything pop.
Fat-free things will NEVER taste right, they always have to add too much other stuff to replace the fat. Ditto, in my opinion, low-sugar products. Better to eat moderately of the real thing ;-). But do you know how hard it is to find non-low-fat yohgurt in the stores here! Sometimes the only real choice is expensive organic stuff or a low-fat travesty.

Francie, this is so bright, striking, and a wowzer card. I had a good laugh over your post. Teasing the family by being in the kitchen......not nice. HAHAHA

Love your commentary but not more than I love this card! The colours are extraordinary! Wowsers indeed! I think you have found the perfect use for your faux whip cream. I'm with Sabrina regarding low fat or low sugar foods. Unless they are naturally that way of course. I love that dragonfly and the way you have framed your bright background. This is a great card!

Vibrant, glowing colors on your love card. Shadings on your images on the local panel are beautifully done.....as is your signature, Francie. The colorful bg panel has such fantastic movement, yet doesn't distract from the main panel.

Well, you have me laughing again! Glad to see I am not the only one allergic to the kitchen!
That whipped cream background is fabulous! What wonderful vibrant colors and love the bright image and the way you colored it! What a nice thing to do for your DH when he had a bad day! What a brilliant idea to use that instead of shaving cream!

That whipped cream bg is awesome..simply psychedelic ( I can hear Jimi Hendrix in my head...)..Your vibrantly colored butterfly and garden is gorgeous and goes hand in hand with the fab bg! The descriptions make me chuckle as does your accessories list starting with the Redi Whip...lol! Francie you are a stitch...wish you lived here so we could create some fun stuff!

Gee, Francie, I can't really add anything to the comments you've gotten already, but I love this card! I laughed at your description, too. I was told the only reason I had a kitchen was for resale value, so we're in the same boat.
Your card really is fantastic- not only the whipping cream background, but the focal is terrific! Really cool image and fabulously colored!

I can't believe you achieved this bg with food coloring and a can of whipped cream! Wow! It's so beautiful, and I agree with Sallie that it doesn't detract from the main image, even though you have a lot going on!
*My DH would be in your shoes as far as the kitchen goes. I just told him last night, "I'm so glad I know how to cook/bake and that I enjoy doing both, that way we can eat healthy and not rely on "quick" fixed foods."
