hi there,
Here is my card for the 'From the Kitchen' challenge. I used the salted bkg. technique with Sea Salt. I find that works better then regular salt as it is a bit more coarse and lifts more colour off the paper.
I masked my card front, painted on Distress inks, sprinkled on salt and let dry. I removed the mask and stamped.
thanks for looking,

Not only are we gallery neighbors, but our minds, as far as design, were on the same track.....just mirror-imaged. Made me smile, chuckle and say, "I know why she is my friend"! : ) Lovely card in beautiful colors with your beautiful salted bg. Hugs, mf

Great minds think alike!! Both your card and Sallie's although similar, yet done with different techniques both are masterpieces.

Beautiful, calm, and serene! I love your blues and the soft edges of the panel. The image is very evocative of old fields. Though maybe you wouldn't find it there! :-) I think old fields are such fascinating places. Love your card Karen!

So pretty! Great background -- I've never had great luck with it. Maybe I'll have to find some sea salt as you suggest. I like the shadow stamping on the sentiment.

Oh Karen, now this is the effect I would LOVE to achieve with my salt. I get it a bit if I use sea-salt flakes, but not anything like as effective as this. And I have always loved the Stampendous agapanthus - one of my very early stamp purchases. Thank you for cooking up such a beautiful card.
