This is for the teaparty when we send our cards to each other. I chose this old PSX stamp because it reminds me of warmer temperatures. We go by the Ye Old Mill in Utica, OH on our way to see our son. This is where they make Velvet Ice Cream - YUMMY!! During the warm months it is open. The mill wheel turns, ducks & geese swim in the water, kids play & there's a small restaurant. Of course you see everyone with an ice cream cone in hand!! The ice cream is soooo good!
Using distress markers on an acrylic block I dapped on color. I pierced the corners & stitched then got the idea to run the floss between the stitching & it has a frame feel. Popped up the image & called it done.
Thanks for stopping by.

Girl, you are way beyond talented! I love the pierced edges and then you used floss. yikes. mighty creative over there. I've tried the distressed marker technique, but it wasn't anything I would ever upload. I have to tell you those trees look exactly like an authentic photograph. Wow, you did a stellar job with this one, Karen.

This is so lovely, Karen. It invites you right into the scene. The little hint of pinkish lavender is so pretty. I especially like how the water turned out. My distress markers share the "penalty box" with my gelli plate.... where I banish evil craft products. I just might have to give them another try.

Great stamp, Karen, and I loved the soft coloring with your distress markers. That floss stitching really makes this card front look like it is in an extra special frame - perfect effect!!!
Your story about the old mill and ICE CREAM got my attention right away - sounds like a really WONDERFUL place to go in the summertime!!

Extra cookies - and a fabulous scene and story to go with it. Your forest behind the mill actually reminds me so much of a castle we visited in France last time we were camping there. I like the birds swimming on the water .

LOVE PSX stamps and with your coloring, this is TERRIFIC! Like the way the water looks like it's shimmering. Your stitching does look like an awesome frame. PRETTY card, Karen!
