When I first looked at the challenge to use beads my first thought was to do something with elegance and class. Well, that was yesterday, and I didn't get to do the challenge then. Today my kids are home due to a snow day and that has put me more in the mood for silly. I made this as a valentine for my DH, but my kiddos are the complete inspiration behind this silly card.
Here's how I made it.
1. Colored and cut out the digi
2. held it up to a window w/scrap paper and drew a skirt, which I later traced onto designer paper.
3. Use an exacto knife to cut around the arms and between the legs. I needed the waist of the skirt to go underneath the arms. Then I glued the skirt on.
4. Used a spellbinders label die and embossed it w/darice heart folder.
5. I went over the raised hearts and dots w/a lovely lilac marker
6. Cut out an oval using plantin schoolbook and embossed it with a darice flower folder
7. Cut my last layer to size and used a swiss dot border folder and then went on each side with scored lines using my scor-pal.
8. Used plantin schoolbook again and cut a heart.
9. Then stamped be mine on the heart and traced it with a pink passion marker.
10. I went over each raised dot with lovely lilac and around the edge of the card to create a faux layer.
11. Finally I added the gems to make a necklace and as a center for the bow. I know, I was supposed to use beads, but this was as close as I could come.
Thanks for taking a peek!

this is too darn sweet. I love the bear with her skirt and lipstick. She's got it goin' on that's for sure. I think it's superlative that you placed your beads on her left ring finger. Totally adorable.
