My painfully slow re-do of my studio is progressing. The weather isn't cooperating - I have some furniture refinishing to do for my stamp table and it's wet and cold - UGH. But I wanted to share one tiny corner that's done.
I bought a mid-century card catalog and refinished it with Santa Fe Turquoise chalk paint and wax - I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It is replacing a lame, messy bookcase in one corner of my teeny room. In the before picture you can see the edge of what was a built-in corner desk that used to be both my computer desk and my stamp table.
I sold that and $1700 worth of craft supplies to finance this remodel and I can't wait until it's done!
I love the card catalog - it's meant to be the star of the room.
TFL!

I have so enjoyed watching this journey! I'm amazed at your patience and skill (but mostly patience!) and can't wait to see the whole thing completed! What's your plan for all those little drawers? (I also love the idea of the low-tech card-catalogue getting a new life!)

Yes, yes...must reveal what is in the drawers. You've already got me hooked with your southwestern turquoise color. Going to use any dusty durango color too?
Love your card catalog! Where did you get it? I have one also......... it was taken out of a library and stored for 30 years. I paid $100 at a second hand store. My very best find ever! What is the story with yours?

I LOVE your card catalog! What a great find and the perfect color for it. It's nice having your workshop be not only organized, but a happy place to create in!
