When I saw Jen's card which you can view here I knew it was one I had to try some day and this challenge was the motivation I needed. I didn't really case it, I blatantly copied it with the exception of changing the leaves, the leaf coloring and the stitching was by hand because it was easier than hauling down that tank of a machine and setting it up. I simply drew a wavy line on acetate and pierced it, using it as a template to then pierce the card and hand stitch. Jen has such a delightful, CAS style and her cards are always so well designed. She encourages so many of us with kind words. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to do this challenge all year long.

thud...that's me hitting the ground! I love this card...it's perfect. I wish I wasn't so lazy and pulled out my sewing machine - being in the back of a closet doesn't help...

It is a fabulous case of Jen's beautiful card! Are those Tim Holtz leaves? They look so real and your coloring of them is just AMAZING! Your hand stitching always invokes such awe in me...what patience that takes and your results are beautiful. I would never have thought to make a pattern with acetate...genius! I love that this is also such a great masculine card. Well done!

Gorgeous Nancy. I just used French Foliage yesterday. Thank you for commenting on my card. As soon as I saw your thumbprint on the gallery page I knew I would LOVE your card. Your distressed Freestyle design is sublime! TFS my friend.

Gorgeous card, as was the original! The leaves look like you walked outside and picked real ones still clinging to the tree, and your hand stitching is always so beautifully done. Someday I may actually give that a try!

Nancy, you are the queen of stitching, not to mention patience. Everything about this card is stunning. It is so clean and uncluttered, yet I keep looking at it to enjoy every detail. Gorgeous shades of brown/tan. I keep wanting to add stitching to my cards, but the last time I tried mending my son's jeans I looked away for one second and put the needle straight through my thumb, nearly causing both sons and my husband to faint.
