Today's CAS is all about saying thanks to Janeen for a job-well done! The challenge is to case a card from her gallery. I chose this nice card.
I made this special card for my Dad. Nine yrs ago, suddenly and unexpectedly, my younger brother Bobby passed away. He was only 43. From the time he could sing, his favorite Christmas carol was The Little Drummer Boy. Through the yr but especially at Christmastime, he would play his toy drum and sing his heart out. Last week while my family was on our way to dinner, the song came on the radio and my Dad sang along to it. I knew he was singing it for Bobby and I could hear him choke up as he sang the words. I bought this stamp a few mos ago and this is the perfect time to use it. We all miss my brother very much.
I stamped the Penny Black image, masked it and then stamped the Just-Rite distressed musical bkgrd. Colored the image, distressed the edges of the panel, matted it and adhered it to my card base.

Such a bittersweet story. We never stop missing our loved ones who have gone before us. I love the music background and how you ink distressed the edges. The drummer boy is really special.

Gabby, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. My younger brother died the same way, very quickly, unexpectedly, no time to say good bye. Hugs to you my friend.
I am so glad you posted the reason for your precious card. I enjoy that song also. Sweet little drummer boy. Thank you for participating.

This image is so precious and beautifully colored. I love the aged music score as background. Your father will surely cherish this heartfelt card. I lost my sister unexpectedly at the young age of 36, and 24 years later our family misses her still.
