a sweet time for picking this weeks FS, Lisa! What with all the Christmas parties, family traditions of sweet stuff, I don't stand a chance...can anyone say DQ peppermint chip blizzard! Myrna, your gallery was new to me and you have created a fine one in this year...if that's what I have to look forward to in retirement, count me in! I had a great time 'walking' through your uploads, but it was blue button tree by mjs 1033 that caught my eye.
I changed up the main color, offset my button tree, and used an embossing folder for the background. It was fun to open my grandmothers' button box and select each button, thinking of where she had kept the metal box...it always thrilled me to get to hold it in my lap. And even now is one of my greatest treasures.
I used three shades of gellatos (silver, grey, and black),
a tiny snippet of vintage velvet ribbon, and a torn edge of a button package, which reads: fancy novel buttons..
Enjoy your week in the SCS spotlight, Myrna and congratulations! Thanks for having a look, and now, I am off for something sweet....

NICE case of Myrna's button tree card! Like your grungy bkgrd and how wonderful to have some wonderful, vintage buttons of your G'ma's to use on your card. Combined, they look terrific.

Susan, I am so happy that the first upload I saw in the gallery this morning was one from you! And what a charming vintage button tree, too. Button boxes really are wonderful, aren't they! I have a few treasured buttons that will probably never get used, in my sewing button box. Everything in my card-making one is up for using, though ;-).

Lovely Christmas card with the vintage buttons creating the tree. So pretty how you have emphasized a few words on your embossed bg with a brushed silver look.

Oh, it's lovely, and digging in the button stash is always a riot. One can really spend way too much time doing just that. They are so wonderful to do so many things with. Your tree is so cool with all the pears. I love the squares on the bottom. I am hoping I get time, but it doesn't look good.

I love this idea Susan and may just have to case yours! I have hoards of buttons collecting dust including that beloved tin like Grandma's! Love the distressed look of your background with this too!
