This is one of those "I don't know where I was going with this" cards. I am always so impressed with the water colored cards that some of you make. So, I chose a busy night, after working all day and making a dinner with a lot of dishes to try something new. This is "soooo Francie, doing crafts at the worst time possible". There were just 2 problems. The only water colors I have are a cheap kids set that I bought ages ago when my boys were young, in a failed attempt to convince them that ART IS FUN. The second problem is that I don't know how to watercolor and I did not take the time to watch some videos. First, I put some big red blobs of color that I thought were close to cobler, but looks more rose now. Next I just mushed the paint brush with green all over the place...the green wasn't the color I thought either. At this point I had to decide if my red blobs looked more like spaceships or roses. I went with the flowers. I doodled some white lines to make them look more like flowers, and ended up with the SusieAustralia law of red and white...no matter how many layers of white you use, if the bottom layer is red you will always get pink. So, I stamped some leaves, scribbled some gesso and made my flower bunch. TFL, Francie

I always love seeing where your "don't know where I was going" cards take you, Francie. Yeah, watercolour in the pan don't quite look the same as they do once you add water!! But I think this turned out wonderfully...I can see roses, but until you said that, what I saw was pine cones, very Christmassy with all the green and white. It may sound funny, but looking at this I can smell Christmas smells - spicy and woody!!

I'm impressed; if I had done that I would have ended up with a brown mess and a contribution to the round file! :-) I love the rich colour and thick texture your background has. You encourage me to work on my backgrounds. I have still not used the gesso I bought months (and months) ago. This is a lovely card Francie!

The bow and bough embellishment is worth the price of admission on this...and your holiday abstract roses are really cool. You sure can do something special with "blobs" and "spaceships"....it's a work of art IMHO.

I think this turned out wonderfully and I agree with Sabrina, I saw pinecones at first, until you said roses. I love the colors and how it all turned out, tfs

Francie, you have me laughing with your description(and by the way, I LOVE your "Art" card). Think we have all had these experiences from time to time and you expressed it SO well. Thanks!! : )

I admire your attempt, and I think anything with RED is worthwhile. This looks like abstract RED roses to me!!
