At one of my monthly “sassy stampers” classes the focus was using the four different SU! envelope template sets. This particular card & envie I gave the stampers a choice between two colors and then they could choose from a myriad of sayings. I also gave a little monologue on what the USPS mailing requirements are for envelopes (and when the extra surcharge applies) and then gave them a photocopy of the USPS “Letter-Size Mail Dimensional Standards Template”. This is the third of four cards. The envie uses the large square envelope from Template Assortment #2. This is using a two-ply napkin and the Felted Cardstock aka Hot Card technique. I wanted to show that you can make an envelope out of pretty much anything – if it’s too flimsy, just iron it to freezer paper (or plastic wrap). I cut out a flower from the leftover felted napkin to add to each card.

I've posted a scanned copy of the letter-size mail dimensional standards template in Forums/Resources and it includes a link to the USPS web page that discusses in greater detail the dimensional requirements. Hope this helps. Also, I'd suggest going to your local post office and asking for your own template (or at least getting a photocopy of theirs).
These are beautiful. I am into making my own envelopes, using our templates, (I have them all). Please explain how you use napkins & Freezer paper. That is a new one on me.
Thanks for sharing.
