I was distracted the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out the pattern and finally emailed my sis - Lacyquuilter - who can figure out anything. She DID and made me a pattern, so I am happy to say I have been practicing and my card today has a spirelli tree.
The background is a stamp that was just rubber - no name - when I got it and is glued onto a block. Sentiment is Stampabilities. Shadow tree is cut out of a food box and is what my pattern looks like. The tree is made with embroidery floss. I like it!

NEAT card, Carol! I have never and probably will never attempt Spirelli. I'm sure I'd get it all tangled up. Hee! I like your stamped bkgrd for the trees. Like the way you copied the pattern and put it as is, behind the stitched tree. The distress ink you used makes it look kind of rusty. Very cool card!

This is so neat looking!! It looks like the bg is cheese cloth - (I almost said cheese cake - food on the mind). Your spirelli looks awesome!! I give you a lot of credit for doing that. It looks like it takes patience.

How marvellous is this! I love stitching on cards though I don't even get the machine out to do it. This is gorgeous and I am very impressed at the teamwork between you and your sister. Since you included the pattern on your card as well as a finished example I bet we see more of these wonderful trees in the galleries. What a stupendous card!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirelli tree. I hope you found out that it's pretty easy, if you can count. Thanks for adding my card in your details. I totally love doing spirelli.
