This card is for a challenge at Kylie's blog (Kylie is Addicted to Stamp). She is having a Christmas card challenge with a prize of a personalized watermark and signature.
The background is done using a technique I first saw on one of Jo's cards --- using cling wrap, pounce into versamark ink, pounce onto card front and then coat in embossing powder. Love this technique! Thanks for sharing Jo!
I stamped my poinsettia in waterproof black ink and watercoloured using wet-on-wet and distress inks. I fussy-cut it out and then added gold stickles over the center. I stamped the sentiment in red and clear embossed ... it doesn't show up well in the photo because of all the gold glittery background, but is better in real life.
I added a small strip of gold foil paper and gold cording to finish.

Wow, wow, wow Loll!!! I have wanted to try Jo's technique. Similar, but different from faux mother of pearl. Your fussy cutting of your poinsettia and watercoloring really make your flower pop. Every single detail is just amazing my friend. TFS

Oh my gosh this is GORGEOUS! The splash of gold around that perfectly colored poinsettia is fabulous and definitely a WOW factor! The coloring caught my eye right away and I was sure it was a printed image! Your watercoloring is impeccable!
