Loll Thompson's Twelve Tags of Christmas event has stretched my use of mixed media. I finally feel I've achieved some true mixed media with this tag - the fifth one I've done for her blog.
A friend lent me her Bister powders to try. I sprinkled some blue on the top half and some green on the bottom half of a piece of watercolour paper, then spritzed with water till I got a nice blend of colours. When dry, I stamped first and second generation trees in green. I sprinkled with Frantage embossing enamel and heated from behind. I added a die cut deer and Christmas star. I made a gold heat embossed sentiment label to ground the deer, and sprinkled some of the Frantage on it as well. My sentiment was off-centre so I added a small gold star on the left. Ribbon and cord finished it off.
Here's a link to Loll's event if you want to make a tag to add to it in the next couple of days:

Oh my gosh Susan ... this is AMAZING!! LOVE the bister powder background ... the frantage on top is gorgeous! The stamped trees and your reindeer make for a lovely, wintery scene. Great job!! Thanks so much for playing again with my Christmas tag event! Loll xx

Susan, I know exactly what you mean about starting to get the hang of Mixed Media :-) Your Tag is just amazing with all the textures, mixed media products and your gorgeous Winter scene. I Love it all. TFS my friend.
I am working on one now that is ....well, taking drying time!
