This is another tag for Loll's super fun blog event, Twelve Tags of Christmas. This tag was inspired by a Loll, Karen Dunbrook and Nancy Littrell's resist technique tags. I got muddled up watching Lolls video and reading Karens description after seeing Nancy's gorgeous day 9 tag. To cut a long story short I used glue instead of paint LOL.
On an aluminium sheet I squeezed some white pva glue straight out of a bottle (nozzle no longer works). I then scrunched up some cling wrap and dabbed I in the glue, then dab on foil to remove excess, then dabbed on cardstock. I allowed this to air dry.
Once bone dry I used a belnding tool and sponge to apply Tumbled Glass distress ink over the entire card. Leaving a large oval area in the centre of the card I then sponged in an outward direction with Evergreen Bough distress ink. Finally I did the edges with Peackock Feathers ink.
I punched out the leaves, the paper is a beautiful metallic heavy paper. Using acetate I cut a tree shape and stuck on the leaves, followed by liquid pearls and stickles. A little bit of white raffia and silver twine finished this off.
Thank you for looking. Loll's fun event can be seen here .

What a FUN tree you made on your fabulous mixed media background. I love the way this turned out and I can only image that it is even more beautiful IRL with your stickles glimmering in the tree! Well done....

Gorgeous glue and distressed inks effect Susie. I think it looks very similar to the faux mother of pearl technique. I Love your choice of background colors and very pretty and dimensional tree. That was a lot of punching my friend. TFS your tag and details. Hugs, Nancy

Wow Susie, I didn't even know you were doing these...this is gorgeous my friend!! Love the way you've made your beautiful tree with the branch punch (Was it the branch punch from Martha Stewart?)
Beautiful colors too!

Wow! This one is something else and I never would have thought to use glue for the faux mother of pearl technique! LOVE that mix of colors. Your tree is fabulous! The liquid pearls are the perfect touch and so beautifully done. Mine always look like ice cream cones! Fabulous, Susie!
