This is my card for Sabrina's Ways to Use it challenge today. I tore my swirly layer on an angle and then burnt it with a lighter, precisely at which time DH walked by my craft room....shaking his head....lol!!

That lacy butterfly is just do beautiful!! You're very brave going for a real burnt edge. Even though I was being very careful, I still accidentally set fire to my card when I was doing the soot. I love the dainty look of this. Your swirl EF is gorgeous and a great match with the leafy flourish.

OMG! I can only imagine how the conversation went with your DH. "Babe, this card did not turn out how I wanted it to so I am setting it on fire". Ok maybe not so dramatic but in my crazy world I would have totally had some fun with my DH. LOL Either way, your card is so pretty, I love the striking green against the tan and that butterfly and those flowers are just devine. TFS!

ROFLOL!!!!! You are just way too funny, Jo! I can only imagine what was going through his head when he saw what you were doing! And then you saying, "This is today's challenge!" Ha Ha! Your white really stands out nicely against the kraft ...... beautiful texture~

I can well imagine your DH's reaction like you were sending up your work and "investment" up in smoke. : ) Your card is gorgeous...a "Jo Trademark".....in lovely soft neutrals. Kudos to you to be daring enough to use a lighter in your craft area. : )

Gorgeous card Jo. Love the ripped and burnt edge ... so creative. My hubby shakes his head all the time ... especially when I pull out my blow torch for copper. Honestly, I think they're jealous because they want to play with fire
