I had never used embossing paste before, but I wanted to give Barbara's Hope You Can Cling To challenge a try. I did have some clear artist's medium and I figured I could use that for my dimensional paste type stuff.
Long story short is that I added Real Red reinker to the clear medium to give it some color - and it dried bright, nearly fluorescent orange. I'm not one to frequently use bad language, but believe me, I had a few things to say about that unexpected color change. I didn't want to waste what I'd started, so I had to change my original plans for the card and work with this funky orange. Luckily for me, I remembered that the CAS challenge here a couple weeks ago was to use orange and pink together. I also noticed that the current CAS challenge here is to use either nontraditional colors or nontraditional images to create a Christmas card. The proverbial light bulb went off in my brain - so I made an orange and pink Christmas card! Crisis solved, woo-hoo!

Comments are always read and appreciated! Thanks for taking a closer look at my card.

You are so creative to turn this "lemon into lemonade" or in this case, orangeade! The embossing paste/artist's medium gives great dimension to this card, and by sponging the orange onto the ornament, you've tied it all together (with very pretty silver ribbon). A very pretty Christmas card! Thanks for playing in my challenge!

Your card turned out awesome! I am shocked that that's Real Red reinker, though! That is crazy!

Patricia, you have made me laugh and realize why I fear this challenge. I have a few items on my desk to mix together and now I know I won't try to tint it. But in the end you designed a sweet, bright greeting sure to bring a smile to someone. Way to go by not giving up on this.
