This is my card for the HYCCT1420 challenge "Get Smooshed" - try one of these fun Splitcoast tutorials (Ink,Spray,Smash or Acrylic Smash), make a card to inspire others and encourage those women you love to "smoosh or smash" and get that annual mammogram!
I actually had a piece of "smash" left from another challenge, but wasn't crazy about the colors. I added some blue, pink and cranberry alcohol inks with some silver mixative and dripped blending solution over it until it began to pool. I pounced it slightly and then placed the background stamp on the paper, leaving it a few seconds to let the ink set around the image a bit. I cleaned the stamp with blending solution and then washed it thoroughly to prevent damage. For good measure I inked it up with VersaMark and let it sit for while before stamping it off.
When the "smooshed" piece dried, I cut it with the pierced rectangular die. T covered the card base with purple shimmer paper and adhered the layer with foam tape. The butterfly and "hugs" were cut from silver shimmer paper and added to the card, using Multi Medium for the word and rolled strips of 1/8th inch sookwang tape beneath the butterfly wings. I got this idea from one of Kittie's tutorials here: http://www.kittiekraft.com/2014/10/p...and-holly.html
As always, thanks for looking!

Wow! What absolutely beautiful results Jody Lynn!!! I love all the depth you have going on in your smashed background! It almost looks like one of those gorgeous batik fabrics! Thanks so much for joining in on the HYCCT fun with this challenge! :-)
