Congratulations to Monika (Monia) on becoming our newest featured stamper. Wow, what an amazing gallery, full of beautiful works of art. I cased this beautiful card Valentines Day card
There is now way that I would be able to replicate her card. But I did have the same cute Whimsie Doodle image already coloured in my stash. The background designs - I had in my stash as well. I made the pink bubble wrap paper a long time ago, and the yellow and brown paper was made using yellow and brown acrylic paints. Scrunched up saran wrap and dabbed into the yellow paint, let dry, and repeat with the brown paint. Cut the papers into strips. Matted with the black and pinked blue papers. Sewed together. Cut out the image with oval die cutes. Matted with blue, white and black ovals. Sewed together. I used some crocheted flowers I had purchased from Stamped up, plus the big pink flower (my mother-in-law "Sharron" made for me. Attached the flowers with black brads. Sentiment is a sticker.
I made this for the HYCCT1429 challenge - given by Susie (Susie Australia) Her story gave me the idea to create cards making our own background...without using designer paper on the background. Go crazy with ink, paint, stamps, cork, fabric, corregated cardboard...anything you like except dp.
Hugs... Pat

I love that you stitched together the background strips! I really have to find some bubble wrap and try that technique; yours looks fabulous! I haven't crocheted since the '70's but those flowers might get me motivated to learn again. This card is quite inspirational for me! ...and it is very lovely to boot!
