This is my last card for the last challenge of HYCCT 2014! What a fabulous month of inspiration it's been!
Lydia's fun HYCCT1431C challenge to us: "be inspired by your favorite children's book!" When I read the challenge at first I was thinking along the lines of what stamps I have to go with a favorite children's book. I still might make the first thing that popped in my head but my ALL time favorite series was "Little House on the Prairie". I devoured those books and read them over and over. Imagine my sadness when my own little girl had no desire to read them!
I chose this Phylliss Harris image because this little girl is clearly standing in a grassy field being blown by the wind. I grew up in Kansas and I can tell you, the wind BLOWS on the prairies! One of my favorite memories is of lying on the grass and watching the clouds race across the sky, blown by the wind!

Oh, adorable, precious, sweet, perfect! Because I was a huge Little House on the Prairie fan and I'm a huge Phyllis Harris fan - I don't have any of her stamps yet, but three are on my Christmas list! I LOVE the paper pieced dress, the tiny flowers are perfect - seems like it could be a pattern on one of their dresses or quilts! Love it!
Such a great image to depict your favorite childhood books. I am sure Little House On The Prairie books were wonderful. I have watched the TV series for years over and over again and never get tired of them. Fabulous card and great message, Angela.

This is a wonderful depiction of the Little House books and a great card of encouragement to the patients at Anderson. I cna't believe your daughter didn't like the books. I loved all of Laura's adventures and having the books take place in MN and WI was really fun...I remember Laura putting maple syrup on snow..and well I had to try that..lol...as a kid I loved it..as an adult I don't think I need to try it again ;)

What a beautiful image. I love that you did this for the Little House series, I love that series as well. Your image does give the prairie feel and would take me back to reading that series. TFS
