This is for Jen's fun HYCCT challenge - Hope Soars and also for Linda's terrific Ways to Use it - Favourites.
Jen asked us to bring cards inspired by things that take off..... Wind makes things take off and there is no better feeling than wind in your hair and making a wish.
The technique I used is my new best favourite, so I made a second card with a different sentiment, both are heading off to the Mater Foundation hopsital tomorrow.
The technique I used is my Smack & Squirt technique - smack a distress ink pad onto a sheet of aluminium foil, squirt on a LOT of water then using a blending tool and sponge, slurp up the coloured water and swish over the card stock.
Before I did any of this though I started by stamping the image, then completely covered her with masking fluid (I just bought this, it is fantastic for masking little images). Next, smack & squirt the sky and grass. At this point I removed the masking fluid and painted the little girl with distress inks - even her skin, for that I used antique linen. NO copic markers were used LOL. Stamp sentiment and garden. Oh i almost forgot, white paint pen to put spots on her frock.
This is my all time favourite quote...
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. Leonardo da Vinci.

I love both of these cards, Susie! The Smack & Squirt technique sounds interesting, one I'll have to try!
I love your favorite quote, it sounds just like me!

Oh Susie, I can see why this is your favorite things. I love these cards and you inspired me to get some squirt bottles to try the stamp and squirt technique. Hugs!
