Another holiday birthday card! I had this one lying on my desk, half finished for a week or more. I liked the base panel but couldn't decide how to finish it. I finally decided on the ink colors and stamped the Wondrous Wreath, then attached it to a larger circle layer. It still looked unfinished, and I was looking for something "lacy" to complete it. I had decided I wasn't going to fuss with the Spirelli technique, but I thought it might look really nice behind the wreath, so I dug out my old decorative-cut scissors and made a scalloped edge, then used regular sewing thread to make a delicate spirelli design. I cut the Joy sentiment six times and stacked it to add some dimension.

Well goodness, I can see that if you had to handcut the scallop border (even with scissors) you would have thought this could be a fussy technique - but I must say that it looks fabulous and really sets your wreath off beautifully.
