When ever I make my own background, be it with gelli plate, inks, paints etc, I do a full A4 piece of cardstock, then cut into appropriate sizes.
The blue and purple card were made by scrubbing distress ink directly onto the cardstock and spritz with water for a decorative effect. The red and orange cards were done by squirting several Dylusions inks on to a sheet of aluminium foil, spritz with water, then swish the cardstock through the inky puddle. To add a bit more depth, scrub on some distress ink once the card is dry.
Flicking water onto the card gives a totally different look to spraying. A combination of both has been done here.
Once dry, stamp on the tree and sentiment. I have made little envelopes for these cards from single sided designer paper - you know the ugly stuff you will never use 9put the pattern on the inside.
I hope you are joining in all the fun of HYCCT - not long to go now.

I cannot tell you how much I admire these, Susie - rich, rich bg's you've created yet maintained the clean and simple look that I love too - you are so talented!
Susie, these are stunning!!! Incredible color!!! My hubby just plugged in his phone so that I can see his backpacking photos and said, "this is pretty" and "Brilliant, using the same stamp". So there you go, even the hubs likes this!!! Really gorgeous set of cards.
