I used the faux silk technique for my floral image. After I had it attached to a backing layer I thought it needed something more so I sponged some orchid ink on and then applied some iridescent medium with my finger to make it sparkle (of course you can't see it in the photo). I heat embossed the greeting and dry embossed the bg. Now that I have it all done it looks kind of busy to me..but it may just be that it's not my usual style. I like the silver leaves ;)

Your card reminds me of the Chinese Gardens in Portland, OR. So many wonderful elements to look at- the textures, the central panel, and the flower. Great card!

The embossed background is amazing, Polly - the combination of the dimension from the embossing with the stripes almost makes it seem as if the flowers are layered with shadows. And your faux silk panel is wonderful looking with such a textile/tactile look.
