This is Bridget's challenge for HYCCT, to make a card with your hero in mind and then tell everyone who your hero is.
This challenge was hard for me and I thought about it all day. Who should I choose?
My father, the wild Irish element to my personality who taught us all never to start a fight but never run away either, that there is a funny side to everything in life and who passed away at the age of 56 from illness sustained as a POW in World War II but was never bitter and never gave up.
My Mother who was the exact opposite to my father, an academic who loved reading and writing, was a nursing sister in World War II and who passed away four years before my father at 52 and who taught us to be tolerant, caring and open to all life's adventures and above all how important education and learning was.
Or should it be my three gorgeous daughters who all suffer from mental illness because of the treatment their natural father inflicted on them but for two of them at least they survive and fight on, sadly for my youngest it is a daily battle for her to stay on earth with us and it is often why I go missing from this wonderful community, I need all the emotional energy I have for her.
Should it be my amazing two grand children who despite dysfunctional parents have managed to turn into clever wonderful adults and of whom I'm so proud.
Perhaps it should be my wonderful husband of sixteen years that took me and my children into his heart and cared for us (two of my girls have changed their sir name to his by deed pole), who is my friend, my lover, my world, who supports me in everything I do no matter how hair brained it is.
Maybe I should be looking to those politicians and people in the public arena that are not swayed by money or power but who fight for the rights of the ordinary or down trodden people of the world.
Well I have decided that my card is for all those people who love me and whom I love and all those people that care about the world and the people in it. They are all my heroes
Thanks for looking
Cheers
Marg

Marg, if ever anyone demonstrated this sentiment in real life, it seems to be you - despite a lot of hardship, you seem to have an open, creative spirit - thank you for sharing this with us. This beautiful sentiment is perfectly portrayed in your lighthouse, all done in vivid hues, especially the peaceful blue tones...just wonderful...thank you for sharing this your heart in this challenge, xx

Beautiful card, and an amazing story that you shared with us. I've been struggling to define my hero, also, and haven't yet made my card for this challenge, but you must surely be a hero yourself! Thank you for touching my heart!

Never more true a statement! Our life is pretty much how we react to those things which happen to us in our life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here and reminding us all that we have the power to choose what our life will be eventhough we don't always have control of all aspects of it.
Your card is beautiful and Lighthouses are a favorite of mine. I find them so beautiful and I love the isolated areas they are usually in. You've given me moments of good reflection today. Thank you.
