Day 2 of 'Gifts for Mom's Birthday'. Most of you know I've been in a HEAVY papercrafting, mixed media, 3D stage now for a while. I love cards, but I'm having so much fun trying different things right now! So, I gave myself permission to do it and not feel guilty about missing challenges.
Apparently, I don't listen to myself very well.
I feel so dang GUILTY for falling out of the challenges for several weeks!
First, I totally blamed being the Color Challenge Guest Goddess...sorry...Designer. Yes, yes, it was only ONE project a week, but it was convenient to blame at the time. Now, not having the excuse, REALLY has me wallowing in guilt! Isn't that bizarre??? It's not like it's 'homework', and I'm still connected here pretty well, but my daily routine has shifted a bit and while I'm as happy as a clam, I still have the pervasive guilt that's telling me I'll NEVER achieve my goal of being second in command here at Splitcoast and whipping this place into shape, while Lydia keeps it running and does the PR because she's nice. I, on the other hand, am not.
For the record, I'm totally against dictatorships. Tyranny is fine, though, as long as I'm the one in charge.
But back to wherever in the WORLD I started from, which was my mother's birthday and guilt. Two great things that go great together! heh heh
I found this tutorial here http://artfullymusing.blogspot.com/2...ge-making.html and she has some real beauties. She also made a 3D egg and, although there's no real tutorial, I'm going to try my hand at that as well. Her egg 'design papers' are collages and they can be purchased if you like. The rest was me finding out about (and falling in love with) Dresden gold ornaments and accents, as well as finally playing with changing the colors of metals that I learned here at SCS a long time ago and never did!! But I'm also dabbling in a little bit of mechanics and engineering with mixed media and I have to tell you...I'm simply enthralled.
So please know that while I'm NOT in the challenges with you right now, that I'm STILL here and I'll ALWAYS be here for you, ready to do whatever I can to help. That is until it's time for a little tyranny here and there, but I'll try to let you know ahead of time. I hear Lydia is very organized when it comes to scheduling her minions. hee hee
OH!! One more thing. Trying to get used to the new phone app and having a rough time. If you don't mind, could you message me or leave a comment? I did 2 open and 2 closed eggs with different photo adjustments and I'm having a hard time figuring out what looks best. TY for your help in that!!!
