This was perfect for the F4A240 challenge since it called for natural elements and this has a lot of them. I stretched it a little for the WT498 to use trees...I actually used real trees since the frame is made of twigs from a small tree. I made one of these boxes for me last year and I decided to make a few of them to give away as holiday decorations this year. The challenge to use trees got me started making this on Thursday, and when I saw today's F4A to use natural elements I had to finish it and post it. The box is a cheepie from Michales. I sponged it with gesso instead of using a paint brush to get a rougher texture. Then I lightly sponged tea dye distress ink. The bird is a combination of copics and sponging. The edges are distressed and sponged. My tree twigs are tied into a frame and I used brown floral wire for some spirals. I stuck some fake pine branches in this for the photo, but I might put cookies in the ones I give as gifts. Have a fantastic weekend. As always, TFL.

OK Franice send it right here...it;s adorable!! The little bird caught my eye right away with intense colors beautifully applied..the shading and balance with the white areas is perfect! And then there's the bits and pieces of nature that you used as framing..I love the tied corners and the curled wire..wow...what a neat gift for anyone....I don't even think any cookies are needed..people will love this bird box as is...lovely!!

A totally AWESOME card, Francie!! So much thought into every element. Creative and the bird is colored so realistically and BEAUTIFULLY. The treats that you put in these holders will long be forgotten, but I'm sure each and every one of them will be saved as little treasures.
