I loved today's tutorial in the Weekly Inkling for Alcohol Marker Marbling! Supplies you probably already have, not to intimidating, artsy without being too messy.
I have been wanting to ink up this Brooklyn Bridge stamp from Crafter's Companion every since it arrived as a prize from them almost two weeks ago! And, I thought this would be a great time to try it out.
I followed Audrie's instructions with a slight modification... Since I knew I wanted to use a specific image over the top of my technique, I stamped the image on my guide piece of cardstock before I taped the plastic down (I used plastic wrap for extra texture - and we are out of baggies!). Then I proceeded to color loosely onto the plastic in the basic pattern of the stamped image below. Continued with tutorial instructions and rather than stamping a sentiment over the marbled cardstock, I re-stamped my image with StazOn.
Note: Normally, StazOn and Copic marker are not recommended to work well together because both are solvent based and will run and smear together. Because the Copic ink was completely dry, it was ok to stamp OVER the top. I would not recommend StazOn under Copic coloring or ink refill techniques. I hope that makes sense.
