Once every couple of weeks a group of 5 senior ladies (all widowed) come for tea/coffee and goodies, and we make cards. These ladies range in age from 84 to 87 - and they are so much fun. Two live in my building, which is how I know them. One is a designer, and all have stories that open my eyes wide! I adore these ladies, and they love to make cards and chat. None of them have the internet, so I show them the cards on SCS - they marvel at all the talent there. Ivy, the designer, came up the idea on my Joy card of the printed trees, seems her hubby gave her a card in the 60's with a song printed on a christmas tree. In any event, yesterday I mentioned I wanted to make a Rememberance card and somehow fit the poem in Flanders Field inside - and this is what we came up with. Ivy made my bow, and it took me awhile to get the poem to fit - there was no way to fit the credits so I put it on the other side of the inside. It says:
"In Flanders Field" written by
Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae,
a Canadian physician, on May 3, 1915
at Ypres.
The poppies inside are a digital freebie and I colored them in photoshop and copied them to my card as a watermark.
