Is anyone else mad about Ikat? I discovered it recently when asked to create an ikat card for Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine (Ikat bird currently on the front cover). You can make the most awesome designs in any colors you like with these amazing stamps from Avery Elle. The gorgeous pillow from Surya inspiration gallery here http://surya.com/pillows-throws/pill...rm-(1)/zz-422/ is a great example of the subtle color backgrounds, just cant help but be inspired!
I stamped the design in 3 distress ink colors on watercolor card...it looks like calico fabric IRL, almost too pretty to cut up; I made a frame with it, and stamped the ikat flower in the centre, adding a dollop of liquid pearls to the centre.
