Autumn is my most favourite season and September and October here in Canada are so beautiful although you wouldn't know it to-day as we are getting July weather! The theme for Sabrina's challenge was Autumn Leaves. Well my little bird is a leaf from last year's Autumn ..pressed in a phone book until I needed him! Note to self:~ gather more soon. The background is a frame from Cuttlebug sponged with walnut distress from Mr Holtz and the branch is from spellbinders. The leaves were first sponged with various autumn colours then randomly touched with a versafine pad and embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally I punched them out with a couple of unknown punches that were probably purchased when I first started stamping (in the last century for sure!) LOL

Totally wonderful take on the challenge, I love it. It reminds me of one of my very early cards when I'd got a pack of skeleton leaves and used some of them to make owls, perched on twine. Go and gather more leaves quickly!! Lucky you to have the leaf punch in two sizes for a more realistic look, too.

I love how you made a bird out of your leaf!!! That was pretty darn creative!! We have been having all aspects of weather today. It started out cool and pouring, and now it is hotter, sunny, and humid. I wanted to do so many things with leaves today. My card ended up on the simple side though. :>)
What a clever idea to make your bird! I will have to do some leaf hunting when they start to turn too. I press a few flowers when I find small wild ones. I live in the country and love to walk in the woods for goodies but not until we have our first freeze because of ticks. Your card is lovely. I like the small maple leaves as well. I have a punch like that from the last century too.

Sue, I so admire your talent and sense of design. The "leaf bird" is FABULOUS!!.....and sitting on that maple branch makes for an incredible design....bold and modern...and CAS too. The scrolly framework is terrific. All done is beautiful colors.
