These 4 cards were all done with handmade BGs - I cannot remember the technique's name, (If anyone can tell me what the technique is called, I will edit this recipe to reflect it) - but here is how I did it - I took petals from some of the flowers in my garden and pressed them on watercolor paper, and put them through my Big Shot. The pressure squeezes out the color from the petals and makes very unique designs on the W/C paper. After it dries, you can cut it to use as a layer on a card, and this looks exceptionally well when you are using a quote as your main image, with little or no embellishing.
Thanks for looking!
Note: If you try this, use petals that are as flat as possible and place some papertowels on your plate, because when it goes thru the BS, it squeezes the juice out of the blossom and can get a little messy!!

Thanks for the tip on this! These appear to be beautiful watercolored backgrounds! That could have been my problem when I failed, trying to fit a giant lily all at one time through the big shot! You have inspired me to try again with these beauties!
