It's time to create a mixed media project inspired by one of the natural elements; earth, water, fire, and air. There is a list of color and style suggestions to go along with each element to make it easy to get started!
My natural pull is earth, so I used the suggested colors for that element and painted with acrylic over a collage stamp from Stampendous to make an easy mixed media card. (I cheated and I'm okay with that.)
What I learned recently from a painting video was not to water down your acrylics with too much water, so I used an airbrush medium to thin the paint and I really enjoyed this translucent and fluid style. It also made the dried paint have a slight glossy look to it.
Join the challenge! It's fun, easy and a great way to step into mixed media! Visit the challenge forum and start in on the fun with us!
You can also get more details and a paint video from my blog post at Rain Puddles Design

Ooh yes yes yes. Use that airbrush medium or slow-dri, and there are more. Some come in a matte finish, some are glossier. I just love this card. It's like cozying up to a warm fire on a cold night. Swirling snow, memories of summer roses. Love the little pops of black, too.

Straight into my favourites, I LOVE this. I'm a sucker for all things Paris in any case, since we visit as often as we can. The light airy feel you have added to your earth project reminds me of the year we visited near Christmas and the Champs Elysee had lights in all the trees, it was so beautiful.
Fun idea for a challenge, I'll be thinking about this at work this morning. I think I'm either earth or water...

Oh my gosh, this is so awesome!!! I love all the white/silver splotches and ribbon like shapes going across your piece. This is so fabulous. It looks so artistic and professional. Sometimes I wonder how much of these things are planned, or just happen. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed looking at this.
