I loved the earlier TLC challenge to make a gatefold card so was happy to try this version of the challenge to make an interlocked gatefold.
I made my focal panel by sponging a background with Distress inks, then stamped the Wetlands birds on top. I cut it out with a Nesties rectangle, cut out two more rectangles in plain cs and glued them together to give it substance, and then used two larger ones to make a frame out of blue cs, again cutting out three of them and sticking them together. I stamped the beach grass stamp on the card base with Antique Linen. I think my photo shows how the interlocking gatefold works.

Your colors around the sandpipers are great, so soft. Reminds me of morning on the beach. The reeds or grasses on the "gate" are just the right background for this! Just love it!

Susan, this is SO soft and beautiful! This set has been difficult for me and I've yet to use it yet see beautiful work like yours! Your sponging is absolutely beautiful, the blending, the softness of it is so appealing! That alone is not always easy to do! Beautiful work!

Susan, your card is exquisite and beautifully done. Love the soft colors to go with your seashore theme. The pale stamping of the sea grasses in the bg is perfect.

Your soft colors are so pretty, and I like the bird image -- I've seen it in several places lately. I also like how you used a slightly larger opening on your frame rather than using the same size nestie that you cut the bird panel with. The triple layers advice is a good idea, too -- I'm afraid mine might be a little flimsy.

I'd recently made a gate fold card and I see I may need to make a frame for it! Love this Wetlands image and the interlocking fronts and the way you've stamped the sea grass!
