Phew! We're at the end of another work week. Where is the summer going? I had another little 3" Inchie left over from yesterday's WT493 Challenge and wanted to show you how you can take a very vibrant inky Inchie panel and tone it down, and give it a different look.
As you can see from my ink list I used some pretty vibrant color on the panel (Dusty Concord, Worn Lipstick, and Shabby Shutters in that order). I began by dipping my small leaf stamp into some Color Box Pigment Ink (Frost White) and stamping around the panel - hmm, that looked good. Let's try another stamp. How about one of my favorite stamps from SNSS (Friendship Script Background). Since I was using a strong pigment ink (Ranger Archival Jet Black), I stamped it off first then stamped on the panel the second time. I like that, I said. Well, how about a little spray from Tattered Angels - perfect! Now my panel had gone from bold and vibrant to a more subdued vintage collage look. Just want I had in mind (she smiles).
When I am sitting in the evening I will sometimes fussy cut images that I might use later. I had a beautiful woodland iris already cut from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. I really should have trimmed it back further but ... I gave it a little spritz too. Then I laid it on my panel and covered it with Mod Podge. And, because I can't leave well enough alone (laughing) I applied some Distress Crackle paint.
Now of course (you know me now) I also added some Krylon Gold Leaf to the edges. I let it dry overnight then went over the whole panel lightly with some brown ink to age it even more. Done!
I really think it has a lovely Asian feel, and think it would be nice for any special occasion.
Ink, water, acrylic block, and a little imagination. Thank you so much for your visit today. Cathy, again, this was a wonderful challenge.
Sweet hugs everyone. Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, this is WONDERFUL!!! I am impressed with your fussy cutting, it's a lot of work but the result makes it well worth that effort--stunning. Such elegance, love the die cuts and the DP, it all fits together to create one amazing card! Into my favorites it goes!!!
I love this card!!! Thanks too for the detailed explanation of the assembly of this card.

I am just stunned by this, Susie - the combination of gold and lavender and purple...it's absolutely regal! I got a krylon gold pen to edge some wedding stationary for a friend recently and have been having fun with it - LOVE the gilt edge. That bg is amazing, I just had to scroll up and have another look at it!

Susie-I'm spending the morning gallery gazing and I have to tell you that this blew me away! I can't even find the right ADJECTIVES, other than "WOW, stunning, gorgeous" etc. They all fit, but this piece is in a class by itself. You should be proud of this and I'm sure you are...what a knockout!!!
