My nephew and his wife just celebrated their 25th anniversary. They posted a photo on FB of their feet together in the sand.
That is all it took to inspire this scene that I drew for them.
Coloring was done with w/c pencils and regular pan w/c's. I did put a glaze on her red toe nails. Okay, it is actually a clear gel pen, but it is shiny IRL!

That double-dot border looks great, Cathy - and your little bird is adorable. As soon as I saw this I knew that your gloss must be "nail varnish", a wonderful take on the challenge. I love that Sakura Glaze clear pen. Much easier than Glossy Accents for small details like beaks - or toenails.

Now that's a cute idea! And what better inspiration than 25 years of marriage (she smiles). We're going to Cape May in a week for our summers end vacation. I'm really looking forward to putting my feet in the sand - aaah!
