I combined this week's Technique Lovers Challenge and the CAS Challenge. The colours in the CAS challenge were perfect for poinsettias, and my large poinsettia stamps lend themselves perfectly to the embossed watercolour technique.
I heat embossed the flowers in white, on watercolour paper, and, keeping it very wet, I let various shades of red, pink, and burgundy puddle together inside the heat embossed borders. These stamps fit the Spellbinders Blossom 2 dies perfectly so I cut them out with them, and also cut a variety of greenery to go behind them. I mounted the whole panel on a matching green cardbase.
And it's one more for my August quota for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge.

Beautiful, Susan! I love the way the colors blended in those gorgeous poinsettias! They look fabulous with the white embossing too, a technique I don't think to use!

The variation of color that you achieved on your poinsettia petals is beautiful, Susan. I like how you varied your greens behind them for more interest. A lovely Christmas card.
