A big Congrats to Katie, the newest Featured Stamper! I chose This fun card of KatieÂ’s to case. I kept the watermelon, colors & layout, but I used different images, left off the dry embossing & stamped my own black/white background.
This is actually a 1 layer card. I die cut the main panel out of a 5.25 x 4 inch piece of white card stock & on the left over frame, I stamped the checkerboard bg. For the main panel, I masked off the area on the left and stamped the watermelon border. After masking it, I sponged on several colors of green ink & stamped the lines bg w/ the darker greens, removed the mask & colored the watermelon. The watermelon & ant image was stamped on a scrap of white, colored & fussy cut. I trimmed the checkerboard around it a bit to fit in the space. I used a SAMJ to rearrange the greeting a bit. Added some twine & a button then attached it back into the narrow checkerboard frame.
Congrats again, Katie! Thanks so much for looking! The colors of Copics are on my blog: The Write Stuff

This looks phenomenal, Julie! I can't believe you stamped your own background! Those watermelon look positively frosty...your coloring is spot on! That sweet black and white twine a button are so sweet on your beautiful card. Thank you so very much for the honor of being named FS this week AND for the honor of this lovely CASE....you have made my day, week, month, year! ;)

What a fabulous one layer card, Julie! You managed to make the one layer appear to have depth and texture! Not to mention the fact that the watermelon looks juicy and delicious, and the ant is as cute as can be! Thanks so much for joining my DTGD challenge!
